what is a modtrap?

The ModTrap comes in two sizes: 16" x 24" and 24" x 30". The panels are two-inch thick broadband absorbers, wrapped in fire-rated acoustical fabric. The bracket is made of anodized aluminum. Each trap is fitted with heavy duty knobs, rubber washers, and two plated steel knurled nuts to thread onto your microphone stand. These bad boys are light weight and fit perfectly on your straight or boom stand. The brackets can be mounted on a wall or ceiling as well. ModTrap is made in the USA.

how does it mount?

The ModTrap mounts to any regular mic stand or boom stand by simply sliding the bracket onto the stand and securing with the included retaining nut.

how can it be used?

The ModTrap is primarily designed for reducing room reflections in vocal and instrument recordings in a home or project studio environment, however it has several other uses. The ModTrap can effectively reduce microphone bleed between instruments or vocalists by acting as a "gobo". Placed in corners, the ModTrap can also act as a bass trap and reduce low frequency standing waves.The ModTrap can also enhance mixing environment by reducing room reflections and creating a more focused and accurate soundstage for critical listening.
